Limewash block brush which is suitable for painting Australian limewash paint on interior walls
To obtain the varied texture that limewash is so well known for, the use of a block brush like this one is recommended. Given that Limewash Paint is thinner and more laden with pigment than synthetic paints, this brush is perfect given that it holds a substantial amount of paint and distributes it liberally. The shape of the brush gives the paint stroke that textural finish that limewash is so well known for.  For best results, paint in a criss-cross pattern or other limewash technique to ensure texture shines through.
 
CARE INSTRUCTIONS - BRUSH
Ensure that you wash with water after use. The wet paint will dissolve easily in water. Dry brush with a paper towel or leave to air dry.

    Delivery times

    MATERIALS

    Our product is made primarily from hydrated lime, which is a powder formed from the burning of limestone. Limestone is a naturally occurring sedimentary rock consisting of high levels of calcium and magnesium carbonate. We also add a combination of oxide pigments, primarily derived from oxide minerals to form the desired colour, and natural additives to ensure that the pigment binds to the hydrated lime and to increase the overall cohesion of the paint to the surface.

    WEIGHT

    In its powdered form, our full size limewash paint products that make 4L of paint are 1.44kg. Once water is added, the product will be roughly 4.5kg. Our tester limewash paint products are 70g and once water is added will be roughly 200g.

    Store powdered product in a cool, dark place. 

     

    Full size product: To make 4L of paint, add 2.6L of hot (not boiling) water to a bucket with product and mix thoroughly. The ideal thickness is the consistency of whole milk.

    ​

    Tester: To make 200mL of paint, add 130mL of hot (not boiling) water to a bucker or large bowl with the product and mix thoroughly. 

    ​

    Once water is added, cover bucket or vessel with alfoil or cling wrap and store the liquid mixture in a cool, dark place until intended use. Ensure that the product is mixed thoroughly prior to the second coat. If the liquid looks thicker than when you first added water, add small amounts of water until at desired consistency.
